A shared purpose — a living heritage

The Friends of the Turkmen Alabay – Bulgaria Club is a specialised structure within the Bulgarian–Turkmenistan Industrial and Trade Chamber. Our mission is to preserve, study and promote the breed as part of the historical and cultural heritage of Turkmenistan.

Our community welcomes owners, breeders, veterinarians, canine specialists, researchers, organisations and friends of the breed. We share a commitment to humane treatment, scientific knowledge and cultural exchange.

Friendship that connects cultures

The Turkmen origins of the Alabay and the traditions surrounding it are central to our mission. Through education, publications and the exchange of knowledge, the club contributes to cultural ties between Turkmenistan, Bulgaria and the Balkans. We aim to present the breed with respect for its history and responsibility for its preservation.

Care, knowledge and community

Responsible breeding Health, stable temperament, genetic diversity and traceable ancestry. Sharing veterinary and scientific expertise.

Education and culture Educational initiatives, publications and meetings devoted to the breed and its place in Turkmen heritage.

Events and exchange Preparing exhibitions, conferences and Turkmen Alabay Days that bring together enthusiasts, breeders and specialists.

International cooperation The club aims to build partnerships with the competent institutions and specialised organisations of Turkmenistan, including the International Association “Türkmen alabaý itleri”, as well as with clubs, breeders, veterinary professionals, research organisations and like-minded people in other countries. We seek to exchange knowledge and good practices and to undertake joint educational initiatives, research and events that support the health, welfare and responsible breeding of the Turkmen Alabay. These relationships are founded on respect for the breed’s origins, the preservation of its distinctive qualities and the promotion of its cultural heritage.

Our guiding principle

The welfare and health of the dog take precedence over any commercial, competitive or personal interest.

Principle set out in the club’s Code of Ethics, Article 2.
